Reservations and Check In

Our check in time is 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. and check out time is 11:00 am.

We can arrange special times, but by appointment only.

Children 10 and over are welcome, but regretfully, we cannot accommodate pets.
Smoking is permitted only on the porch.

Two night minimum stay on special holidays, events and weekends May through October.

Blue Max Inn Gift Certificates are now available on-line (or by mail) through our reservation service. Certificates are available starting at $50 and can be charged to any of the credit cards shown below.

Because of our small size, cancellations affect us significantly and for this reason cancellation of reservations must be 10 days prior to your scheduled arrival to avoid a full rate charge. All other cancellations are subject to a $25 charge. We accept cash, personal checks, travelers checks and the following credit cards.

All reservations are confirmed with credit card or personal check.

Special Functions

The Blue Max Inn can accommodate special functions such as business meetings, wedding parties, seminars and training sessions. Please call or Email us for details.

From New York and Philadelphia: South on I-95 to DE Exit 1a - (896 South Middletown). 4 miles to Route 40 West (on right) - 4 miles to Route 213 South (on left) 6 miles to canal - cross over the canal bridge - turn right at bottom of bridge and circle around to stop sign - left at stop sign to 2nd right turn (4th Street) and go one block to The Blue Max Inn.

From Washington D.C. and Baltimore: North on I-95 to MD exit 100 (North East) - bear right to Route 272 South - follow to Route 40 East (on left) - follow to Route 213 South (on right). Turn right on Route 213 toward Chesapeake City - 6 miles to canal - cross over the canal bridge - turn right at bottom of bridge and circle around to stop sign - left at stop sign to 2nd right turn (4th Street) and go one block to The Blue Max Inn.

From Chesapeake Bay Bridge: North on Route 301 to left turn on Route 213 North (approximately 45 miles) - before crossing the Chesapeake City Bridge over the canal, exit to the right into South Chesapeake City - continuing along George Street to the 3rd right turn (4th Street) one block to The Blue Max Inn.
