This elegant bed & breakfast is located in historic Chesapeake City, Maryland, along the shores of the famous Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Built in 1854, The Blue Max Inn is a charming and romantic inn located in the heart of the historic area of the town. The inn was once occupied by renowned author, Jack Hunter, who wrote the runaway best selling novel, "The Blue Max". Known affectionately as "the house with generous porches", the Blue Max Inn is located among antique and gift shops, artist studios and award winning restaurants and pubs. Just a short stroll from the center of town and the waterfront, the Blue Max Inn's location is quiet and peaceful.

If you are interested in touring Baltimore or any of the Brandywine Valley
attractions, Chesapeake City is conveniently located a short drive from
these popular tourist attractions. Local events and additional information is available under the
Town Tour link. Other activities in the area
include fishing, boating and enjoying recreational and
commercial ship traffic through the C&D Canal.
If you come by boat, there is a public anchorage within easy walking distance. If you bring a boat, you can park it in our off
street parking area and launch it at the nearby, free public ramp. The

In 2002 our guests voted us as the
Friendliest Innkeepers too. We're still very friendly but we must have
been working too hard making the Inn beautiful this year! We'll do all we
